Platsannons: Jobba i Al Frankens senatskampanj

Om du är student och passionerat intresserad av amerikansk politik har du nu ett gyllene tillfälla att i sommar dels få stifta bekantskap med insidan på en senatskampanj, och dels arbeta åt den i särklass roligaste och mest humoristiska politiker som kandiderar i valet 2008, demokraten Al Franken:

We are looking for interns to work in the campaign office with Al this summer. This is a great opportunity for political science/communications majors or anyone interested in politics. Students can receive internship credits for their work as well. Our interns are an essential part to the campaign. We need enthusiastic, hard-working people to help with the planning of events and appearances, recruit volunteers, and other general campaign work. Getting involved with a Senate campaign is a great experience for students eager to learn about the political process and plan for the future.

DETAILS:
Work 10-20 hours per week. Set your own schedule.
Office hours: 10-5 weekdays, 5-8 pm Tuesday-Thursday
Events vary, evenings and some weekends
No prior campaign experience is necessary.
This internship is unpaid.

Work in the Finance, Field or Communications department

Finance intern duties: Receiving, sorting and distributing campaign mail, processing monetary and non-monetary campaign contributions, and representing the campaign at fundraising events

Field intern duties: Help with the planning of Al's events and campaign appearances, recruiting volunteers, updating information on supporters, and doing visibility at events (holding signs, handing out campaign materials, signing up volunteers)

Communications: Press and Research.
Press duties: Collecting press clips, monitoring radio and TV, putting together press packets and assisting the communications team with other projects
Research duties: Writing policy briefs and assisting with a variety of research projects.
